If you're an antiquing, flea, or farmers market enthusiast in Central Florida, make sure Renninger's Twin Market in Mount Dora is on your radar—and on your list of things to do. The city of Mount Dora is a well-known destination for its many antique shops and festivals, but Renninger's is a destination all to itself.

The Marketplace

They call it a “twin” market because it has two distinct but related sides. One half is Renninger's Farmers and Flea Market and the other half is Renninger's Vintage Antique Center. Each side has a large air-conditioned building surrounded by outdoor booths and additional shops. All told, there's just under 120 acres of amazing browsing, shopping, and chatting with interesting vendors. It's so easy to spend the whole day here and still not see everything.

This is basically heaven if you love wandering from stall to stall, perusing, meeting local craftspeople and fascinating strangers, examining all sorts of unique items, finding things you never knew you needed until you laid eyes on them, hunting for great deals on great stuff, and everything else that makes antique, farmers, and flea market experiences so cool.

The Farmers and Flea Market

The farmers and flea market side at Renninger's has over 100 indoor merchants and another 400 or so outside. Here you'll find fresh produce and local artisanal foods, plants, arts and crafts, a variety of collectibles, home furnishings and décor products, jewelry and other accessories, clothes, personal care and beauty products, pets and pet care items, and lots more. This half of the venue is only open Saturdays and Sundays from 8 in the morning until 4 pm.

The Antique Market

On the other side, at Renninger's antiquing half, the indoor facility houses around 200 vendors. Outside that, there's an area known as “The Street of Shops,” made up of rows of little antique stores to explore. Also, a consignment area displays special offerings from some of the on-site merchants, as well as fine items from antiques and collectibles dealers across Central Florida. This part of Renninger's Twin Market is open from 10 am to 4 in the afternoon on Fridays and from 9 in the morning to 5 pm on weekends.

The Central Florida Antiquing Events of the Year

For an unforgettable antiquing experience, visit Renninger's during one of its three annual three-day-long Antique and Collector's Extravaganzas. At these times, the Mount Dora marketplace augments its regular offerings with those from about 1,000 other dealers from all over the country. These are held during the third weekends of January, February, and November.
